Nothing has confirmed the details about the processor in its upcoming smartphone, the Phone (2a). The company has opted for a MediaTek chipset instead of a Snapdragon one and has explained its choice in a long video.

Furthermore, a new leak revealed the specifications and price of the Nothing Phone (2a) in India before its launch. Here is everything you need to know about the smartphone.

Nothing has revealed the upcoming Phone (2a) will use the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro chipset. It will be a custom variant of the 4nm Dimensity 7200, which debuted last year.

The Dimensity 7200 Pro in Phone (2a) is an octa-core processor with a clock speed of 2.8GHz paired with up to 12 GB of RAM and 8GB of RAM with virtual memory. Furthermore, the phone will also have a Smart Clean feature that will optimize the UFS storage for prolonged usage.

In addition, Nothing has also added an Adaptive NTFS feature, which will drastically improve the data transfer speeds on Windows. The company has worked closely with MediaTek to optimize the chipset for Nothing OS 2.5, and it claims the upcoming phone will offer improvements in performance over the Nothing Phone (1).

According to a leak by SmartPrix in collaboration with OnLeaks, the upcoming Nothing Phone (2a) will feature a vertical camera module with a Glyph interface. Furthermore, the phone will have a transparent design and a centre punch hole cutout on the display.

It will have three strips surrounding the circular island for the Glyph lighting. The render showcases the phone in a dark grey colour, and it will have a boxy feel with curved edges similar to the Nothing Phone (2).

The Nothing Phone (2a) will feature a 6.7-inch Full-HD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. A leak by tipster Yogesh Brar has also revealed the hands-on image of the device.

Furthermore, the Nothing Phone (2a) will use the MediaTek Dimensity 7200 Pro processor paired with 8GB or 12GB of RAM. It will run on Nothing OS 2.5.2 based on Android 14 paired with up to 256GB storage.

For optics, the device will have a 50-megapixel primary and a 50-megapixel ultrawide angle lens. On the front, there will be a 32-megapixel selfie shooter.

The Phone (2a) will pack a 5,000mAh battery with 45W charging support. In addition, the phone has an IP54 rating and NFC support.

Furthermore, the device will feature an AI-powered wallpaper generation feature similar to the Google Pixel 8. The phone is likely to also sell in a White colour variant.

The Nothing Phone (2a) will debut on March 5 in India and will cost Rs.23,999 for the 8GB+128GB variant. Moreover, the phone will weigh around 190 grams and be 8.55mm thick.
